History of Pi Sigma Epsilon
To understand the passion, you must know it’s beginning.
In 1951, four gentlemen who belonged to Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI) created an organization that would train, educate and prepare young adults across the country interest in Marketing, Sales Management, and Selling. In 1952, Lloyd Antle, Dr. William H. Harris, Dr. Henry O. Baker, and Lewis F. Gordon incorporated Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) under Georgia Sate laws. Making PSE the only professional student organization focused in the field of Sales and Marketing. PSE is considered of the most dynamic student run organizations in all of America. In 1974 Pi Sigma Epsilon amended its National Constitution to allow the admittance of women into its organization making Pi Sigma Epsilon a co-educational Fraternity.
Pi Sigma Epsilon was originally created to encourage the advancement of careers in the fields of marketing and sales. Today Pi Sigma Epsilon is identified as having a profound impact in the training of students entering the job market from all majors, not only to those students focused in marketing. Pi Sigma Epsilon has served in training more than 45,000 members since it was founded, and is growing rapidly across the nation!
On the collegiate level, Pi Sigma Epsilon has over 130 chartered chapters across the nation. Each collegiate chapter is organized and operated like a small independent business. PSE offers practical experience to members through active involvement in sales and marketing projects, marketing research, professional programs (speakers, tours, career shadowing, etc.), community service, social events, general chapter operation and much more.
On the professional level, Pi Sigma Epsilon offers worldwide networking, continuing education and an opportunity to support the development of the future leaders within the fields of sales and marketing.
